What rules do Elk Grove High School students propose for our elected officials?
Heidi Graham, President of our League of Women Voters local chapter, asked students what decorum they expect from politicians.
Below are our students’ rules for politics:
- No interrupting
- Be open-minded
- Respect other opinions
- Argue using facts
- Free media
- No name calling
- No yelling
- Be comfortable being uncomfortable
What rules would you add to this list for those in a position of leadership and public trust? Please add your thoughts in the comment section below.
